With room for expanding specialty practices, Millennium provides a convenient location for physicians looking to work alongside well-trained staff while earning valuable experience. General Physicians
Languages: English
Education:
- Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
- Medical microbiology and bacteriology
- Health/medical physics
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work setting: Clinic
Responsibilities:
- Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals.
- Examine patients’ health conditions to identify diseases and injuries.
- Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits, and reshape their approach to wellness.
- Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment.
- Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
- Participate in institutional committees. Perform and assist in routine surgery.
- Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases.
- Deliver babies and provide pre-natal and post-natal care.
- Advise patients on healthcare.
- Supervise staff Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities.
- Be the patient advocate.
- Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care.
- Provide acute care management.
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
- Provide emergency care.
- Supervise home care services.
- Perform human resources-related duties such as personnel selection.
Credentials:
- Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses
- College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
- Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)

Job Duties of Medical Receptionist
- Greeting patients with enthusiasm and a positive attitude;
- Responding to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner;
- New patient registration, checking in/out patients of our office including validating health cards;
- Scheduling, coordinating and confirming patient appointments, tests, referrals and procedures;
- Updating and maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) with all test results, clinical notes, demographics etc;
- Sort and file correspondence, and perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering emails and letters;
- Reviewing and charting telephone, mail and email messages;
- Responding to all telephone inquiries and messages from patients;
- Management of billing for procedures and patients not covered;
- Ensuring all exam rooms are clean after each patient, and checked regularly for cleanliness and adequately stocked supplies;
- Ensuring all patients and visitors are receiving the utmost care and quality service as they deserve;
- Participating in other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned as well as ordering supplies as needed;
- Working collaboratively with other administrative support staff;
- Occasionally required to cover affiliate clinic in the area
Qualifications and Skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Completion of a College-accredited medical secretary or medical office administration program AND/OR equivalent work experience in medical office administration
- Demonstrates exemplary work performance and attendance record
- Personable with excellent communication skills
- Positive work ethic and superior professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent time management, organizational and self-planning skills
- Proficient in English, additional languages are a bonus
- Proficient with medical terminology
- Proficient in computer applications including Windows OS, Microsoft Office, e-mail and Internet
- Experience using EMR is an asset
Medical Receptionist
A minimum of 2 years of experience required
Our thriving clinical practice needs a highly- motivated and experienced Medical Receptionist. We’re looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as people rather than numbers in a file, and who understands the value of compassionate service! The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidates will know when to slow down, look patients in the eye and provide personalized, professional service.
